R – Why Does the Infopath 2007 Form Shows Error Message When Saving Repeating Table With More Than 60 Records

We are currently creating an InfoPath 2007 form is deployed in SharePoint 2007. In the form we populate the repeating tables with more than 60 records. However, when we're submitting the form, an error message appears. Does the number of records in the repeating table affects the submitting of the form? Also provide some workaround to resolve the issue.

I believe that the number of postbacks allowed when filling out the form is set by default to be around 75 or so. I had a similar issue and had to raise the limit in the Central Admin page.

Do you have web form compatability checked in all the necessary places? Are you using the web compatible date controls? Are you sure you are using SharePoint 2003, I thought Form Services was a 2007 update.

Instead of adding the List as a Data Source, add the Data View XML of the list as the data source.

You can locate the Data View XML of the list by using this URL:

<Site URL>/_vti_bin/owssvr.dll?Cmd=Display&List={<GUID of the List>}&XMLDATA=TRUE&SortField=<Internal name of the Field that you want to Sort>&SortDir=Asc

Use this XML file as the data source in your InfoPath form, the dropdowns will be sorted according to the field you have specified.
